HAND-CUT

These Skinny Strip Leather Pendant earrings are hand cut without the use of a press and instead using a traditional Saddler’s knife and other Saddlery tools.

These Skinny Strip earrings are made from small leftover pieces of bridle leather that are too small to make into straps.

CONSTRUCTION DETAIL

Corners are nicked to prevent unsightly folding and bending and edges are beveled to remove sharp edges created when cutting the item out by hand. A Saddler works in the same way to ensure equine comfort and therefore the safety of horse and rider. This creates an item, which is not only comfortable to use but a joy to handle.

EDGE-CREASE

We add an Edge Crease if the customer desires it. An Edge Crease is an impressed line made on the surface of the grain of the leather. It is indented from the edge of the leather item and runs around the edge of it. It forms part of the Saddlery process and compresses the edge of the leather, which makes it wear better. It also looks rather nice! But you can choose to have it without if you prefer.

HAND-BURNISHED

We use veg Tanned Leather in these earrings as it can be polished by hand to a high shine. We do not need to coat the raw edges in plastic as is necessary with chrome-tanned leather.

FINAL TOUCHES

Lastly, we thin the leather at the top and carefully punch a hole, add a sterling silver jump ring and sterling silver ear wire to create a simple elegant earring.

You can choose from two colours of Veg Tanned Bridle Leather, Black Bridle, (BB) or London Tan Bridle, (LTB).

The edge crease option is referred to as E/C. Therefore, ‘WITH E/C’ means with an edge crease. ‘WITHOUT E/C’ means without an edge crease.
